Participants will explore the concept of power and control, which provides the context for
domestic abuse, at a societal level and within the home. We will discuss how power and control
intersects with race, religion, gender, sexuality and disability, and may impact on survivors’
experiences of abuse and seeking help. The webinar will provide an overview of the provision and protection for survivors, as well as specialist support services that provide advocacy for survivors and guidance for professionals.
Bio:
Marianne is an experienced Relationships and Sex Educator for young people and has
spent the past 3 years supporting homeless young people who are experiencing domestic and
sexual abuse. Marianne draws on her experiences from the Domestic Abuse sector, her ISVA
traini
