Previous research has concluded that black people tend to be more satisfied with their body image as opposed to their white counterparts. However, from viewing social media, listening to rap music and hearing conversations in the black community, this seems to be far from the truth. This workshop aims to explore and debunk myths around body image, body dysmorphic disorder and related issues in the black community. Bio: Paris Capleton, Psychotherapist and Coach helps individuals move from ‘surviving to thriving.’ Her work focuses on mental well-being, self-love and personal development. She has many years of experience hosting workshops and currently works therapeutically within the NHS. She is passionate about supporting the black community on issues related to the body and racial trauma Cancellations: In the event of cancellation of a webinar by the facilitators, we will endeavour to inform all participants at least two weeks before the course is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible. In such an event, all course fees paid will be reimbursed in full. In the event that dates have to be changed by the facilitators, participants may request a full refund if the new dates are not convenient.
